Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or resold for commercial gain. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Visitors will not be admitted to the Palm Houses without a valid ticket, either printed or displayed on a mobile device. Where applicable, proof of eligibility for discounted entry must also be presented.

All visitors must book a timed entry slot, including Members, carers, and those entitled to free or discounted admission.

Please note that dogs and other pets are not permitted within the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (including the Palm Houses), with the exception of highly trained assistance animals.

For the safety of visitors, staff, and RBGE’s living collections, RBGE reserves the right to refuse admission.

Children aged 5–15 years require a ticket. Children under 5 are not required to book a ticket.

Children 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult, aged 16+

Your ticket grants access to the Palm Houses only. No other glasshouses are currently open to visitors.

Tickets are valid only for the date and time slot selected at the time of booking and cannot be redeemed at any other time.

To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, the Palm Houses and/or Garden may close at short notice due to extreme weather conditions.  Every effort will be made to notify affected visitors, so it is essential that a valid email address is provided when booking.

If your booked Palm Houses visit is cancelled by RBGE due to extreme weather, you will receive a full refund. Refunds or exchanges will not be available in cases of inclement weather where the Palm Houses remain open.

Proof of entitlement may be required for certain ticket types, including reciprocal membership schemes, or benefit-related concessions.

It is your responsibility to check the accuracy of the information contained in your booking confirmation and tickets. Errors cannot always be corrected after purchase. Please keep your confirmation email and tickets safe, as RBGE cannot accept responsibility for tickets that are lost, stolen, or misplaced.

Palm Houses tickets can be purchased online or in person at either the East Gate Lodge or the John Hope Gateway (West Gate), subject to availability.

RBGE reserves the right to amend a booked entry time after purchase if operational circumstances require it. We will make every effort to notify you as soon as possible should this become necessary. If your booking has to be cancelled, a full refund will be issued. No additional compensation will be payable.
